Full Name: Kyra [K-eye-ruh] Shay Lewis

Age: 18

Location: Seattle, WA

Background: Kyra is your average 18 year old, if just a touch shyer than some. She grew up in a lovely suburban home with her mother, father, and younger sister. Kyra had a fairly "normal" and uneventful childhood; having a quite stable family and group of friends she has been with since she was very young. She grew up and went to middle and high school with these friends, many of which happened to be a year younger than her. Kyra always felt an inseparable bond despite the age difference.

As the story begins from here on out, Kyra is leaving her friends and family behind and moving to Seattle for college. She thinks she's ready. Or maybe not; she's always been rather indecisive. Either way, the move begins to show her one thing about herself: all that she formerly defined herself by is gone. She must create a new vision of herself as she moves into her new life, just as many have done before her and many will do after her. Why, then, is Kyra's story interesting?

That's what she'd like to know. Kyra is tired of having an "uneventful" life. She's tired of things staying the same and yet she's not quite sure she likes the opposite just yet. Regardless, she will change, and somehow, make an interesting story of her life.

Author's Note: Basically I'm exploring the human condition through the eyes of a college freshman, someone beginning a year that is the turning point for many people. The experiences Kyra has will reflect the experiences others have had, and some experiences will be unique to her. There's nothing uniquely special about Kyra: but in that sameness lies an even greater possibility for growth.
